EastEnders confirms Ross and Zack showdown as wedding day drama explodes

In the immediate aftermath of tonight’s shocking wedding cliffhanger on EastEnders, the next episode will see things become very heated between heartbroken Ross Marshall, his would-be bride Vicki Fowler and her former fling Zack Hudson.

Tonight’s climax saw Ross finally putting two and two together as he realized that Zack was the man his partner had slept with. Ross confronted Vicki about their romantic relationship in the middle of the ceremony.

First-look images for Thursday’s episode (28 May) see things quickly turning violent, as Vicki tries to explain herself to a devastated Ross and reassure him that he’s the one she loves.

He’s in no fit state to listen, however, and the new photos show him furiously coming face-to-face with best man Zack outside the marquee before chaos ensues.

What will this revelation mean for Vicki and Ross going forward? Fans will have to wait until the last episode of the week drops on BBC iPlayer at 6am and airs on BBC One at 7:30pm to find out.

Vicki, as viewers will know, slept with Zack back in January, and last month they were seen kissing and struggling to keep their hands off each other when Vicki and Ross fell out over his troublesome son Joel.

Whatever happens, things certainly won’t be quietening down in Albert Square going into next week, as Denise receives the shocking news that she has blood cancer.

Elsewhere, Vicki’s brother Mark (after getting into an argument with Zack) will be seen growing closer to Chelsea, while Cindy is shocked when Max gets down on one knee.

Meanwhile, fans have been thrilled to see Letitia Dean back in action as Sharon Watts after a temporary exit. After making her comeback for the big wedding this week, what lies in store for her next?

Speaking on This Morning this morning, soap insider Sharon Marshall teased: “She will come back for a very short stint now, just for the wedding, and then go off. But then she is back for good in about a month’s time. So we have got Shazza back, the world is healing!”

As tensions continue to explode across Albert Square following the disastrous wedding showdown, Thursday’s episode is set to push several relationships to breaking point.

After the shocking confrontation at the ceremony, Vicki Fowler finds herself completely isolated as the consequences of her secret affair spiral out of control. While she desperately attempts to salvage her relationship with Ross Marshall, it soon becomes painfully clear that the damage may already be irreversible.

Sources close to the storyline have teased that Ross will struggle to process the humiliation of discovering the truth in front of friends and family. Feeling betrayed and publicly embarrassed, he lashes out emotionally during several explosive scenes that leave wedding guests stunned.

Viewers will see Ross storming away from the marquee after his heated clash with Zack Hudson, but the drama is far from over. In emotional scenes airing later in the episode, Vicki follows him through Albert Square pleading for another chance and insisting that her feelings for Zack meant nothing compared to what they had built together.

However, Ross refuses to believe her explanation.

First-look photos show him visibly devastated as he accuses Vicki of lying to him for months. At one point, things become so intense that nearby residents begin stepping in to stop the argument from escalating further.

Meanwhile, Zack finds himself becoming Public Enemy Number One among several members of the Fowler family. Although he initially attempts to avoid further conflict, tensions eventually boil over when Mark Fowler Jr confronts him outside The Queen Vic.

The pair exchange furious words about Zack’s betrayal before the confrontation turns physical. Witnesses are left horrified as the fight quickly spirals out of control, forcing locals to intervene before someone gets seriously hurt.

Despite everything that has happened, it becomes increasingly obvious that unresolved feelings still exist between Zack and Vicki. During a tense private conversation later in the week, Zack admits he never truly moved on from their connection and regrets allowing things to go as far as they did.

Vicki, torn between guilt and lingering attraction, finds herself facing an impossible decision about her future.

Fans of the BBC soap have already flooded social media with reactions to the storyline, with many praising the explosive performances and dramatic wedding twist. Others, however, remain divided over whether Vicki and Zack should ultimately end up together.

One viewer wrote online: “This is classic EastEnders chaos and I’m absolutely loving every second of it.”

Another added: “Poor Ross. He didn’t deserve any of this.”

But relationship drama isn’t the only major storyline dominating Walford next week.

In heartbreaking scenes, Denise Fox receives devastating news about her health after attending a medical appointment. After weeks of subtle symptoms and concern from those around her, Denise is left completely shattered when doctors reveal she has blood cancer.

The beloved character initially struggles to tell her family the truth and attempts to put on a brave face despite privately falling apart.

Upcoming episodes will explore Denise’s fear about what the diagnosis could mean for her future and her loved ones. Friends and family rally around her, but insiders have hinted that the storyline will take several emotional turns over the coming weeks.

Chelsea Fox becomes especially worried after noticing her mother acting strangely, while Jack Branning senses something is seriously wrong long before Denise is ready to open up.

Elsewhere in Albert Square, Cindy Beale is left speechless when Max Branning makes a surprise romantic gesture that nobody sees coming.

After weeks of growing closer once again, Max decides to take a huge risk by getting down on one knee in front of stunned onlookers. Cindy is completely blindsided by the proposal, especially given the complicated history they share.

But whether she says yes remains to be seen.

Fans know all too well that relationships in Walford rarely run smoothly, and spoilers suggest there could be more heartbreak ahead before the week is over.

Meanwhile, Sharon Watts continues making her highly anticipated return to the Square after her temporary departure earlier this year.

Although Sharon initially returns only for the wedding celebrations, viewers will notice that several lingering tensions remain unresolved — particularly involving her complicated friendship circle and ongoing family drama.

Soap insider Sharon Marshall recently teased during an appearance on This Morning that Sharon’s comeback is only the beginning of much bigger storylines to come.

“She’ll disappear again briefly after the wedding,” Sharon explained, “but then she’s back permanently very soon — and she returns with massive drama attached.”

Fans have been thrilled to see Letitia Dean reprising her iconic role once again, with many calling Sharon’s return one of the highlights of the year so far.

And if upcoming spoilers are anything to go by, her presence in Walford is about to shake things up in a major way.

Elsewhere, tensions continue growing between several younger residents as secrets, jealousy and betrayal begin causing new fractures within the community.

Joel Marshall’s recent behaviour also continues worrying viewers, particularly after his earlier clashes with Tommy and other local teenagers. Insiders have hinted that upcoming episodes could see Ross struggling to balance his son’s behaviour with the collapse of his relationship, leaving him emotionally overwhelmed from all sides.

As the fallout from the wedding continues rippling through Albert Square, loyalties will be tested like never before.

Can Ross ever forgive Vicki for her betrayal?

Will Zack finally admit what he truly wants?

And how will Denise cope with the life-changing diagnosis she never saw coming?

One thing is certain — the drama in Walford is only just getting started.

EastEnders continues Thursday on BBC One and streams from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
